Terms of Reference
1. Definition
The Universitas 21 Human Resources Group represents an open forum for U21 HR
professionals to share experiences and ideas that lead to effective and
efficient HR practices in the University environment.
2. Membership
The Group is open to any staff from Universitas 21 institutions who are involved
in, or are interested in being involved in, the development, delivery and
support of programmes and services pertaining to HR.
3. Reporting Structure
3.1 The Group will be administered by a ‘host’ University for a 12 month cycle.
At the end of the 12 month cycle, the Group will nominate a new host for the
upcoming 12 month cycle. The cycle will begin in January of each year.
3.2 The host University will submit reports to the Universitas 21 Secretariat.
The Universitas 21 host University will report to the Universitas 21 Manager’s
Group on the progress of the HR Group, as appropriate.
4. Objectives
To provide a forum whereby HR professionals are willing to share knowledge on:
>Comparative staff data
Employee Engagement & Wellbeing
Best in sector HR practice
Key Performance Indicators
HR processes
Organisation development practices
Employee Training & Development initiatives
5. Activities
5.1 Discuss meetings in person where possible or through conference
calls.
5.2 Participate in visits during HR conferences, where possible.
5.3 Maintain an email discussion list and web site to facilitate information
sharing
6. Working Parties
Working Parties
shall be set up to undertake specific HR related projects as required.
Membership may be drawn from the Group or co-opted from outside the Group where
relevant.
