U21:Discover - December 2016
The 37th edition of U21:Discover is now online, with a variety of articles from across the network.
In the Network News section, we reveal the winners of the 2017 Gilbert Medal and U21 Awards, to be presented during the AGM at the University of Nottingham in May. We also introduce our new Provost and Director of Operations who have taken up post since the last edition was published, we also provide news on our latest social media platform.
The Educational Innovation round-up includes a report from this year's EI Conference held at the University of Birmingham, as well as an update on the EI Teaching Indicators and U21 Teaching Excellence projects.
Meanwhile, the Researcher Engagement articles feature reports from the recent Research Collaboration Group meeting at UNSW Australia as well as reports from the ECR Workshop at The University of Edinburgh. We also have an update on the new Graduate Research Projects initiative as well as the results and reaction from the recent U21 3MT.
The Student Experience pages report on the 2016 Undergraduate Research Conference held at Tecnológico de Monterrey as well as the Undergraduate Research Conference which took place at The University of Edinburgh. The SE section also includes an update on the upcoming Global Ingenuity Challenge and how you can get involved as well as features from the U21 Summer School held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Social Entrepreneur Corps from the University of Connecticut.
U21:Discover also features a summary of updates from the Health Sciences Group including a full report from the groups Annual Meeting at the University of Birmingham.
The newsletter also features a back-page interview with the new Provost of Universitas 21, Professor Bairbre Redmond, who also supplies an ‘Issues for All’ article on the role of the university network in the new political landscape.
We also feature the latest updates on personnel changes within the network and information on forthcoming U21 events.
