Nominations are now open for the 2018 Gilbert Medal and U21 Awards!
Nominations are now open for 2018’s Gilbert Medal and U21 Awards, which aim to celebrate some of the core objectives of U21, namely to increase understanding, trust and partnership between international universities, enhance teaching, learning and research across physical boundaries and strengthen collaboration between like-minded institutions across the world.
Named after the late Professor Alan Gilbert, founder of Universitas 21 and major lifelong proponent of the benefits of internationalisation, the Gilbert Medal recognises inspirational figures who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the internationalisation of Higher Education outside of the U21 network. In 2017, the Gilbert Medal was awarded to Professor Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, the 14th President of the International Association of Universities. Professor Dzul joined an impressive group of previous winners including Professor Mary McAleese, the eighth president of Ireland.
The U21 Awards aim to recognise an individual or team within a U21 member university, who have made an important contribution to the internationalisation of Higher Education. Previous winners have demonstrated a wide range of recognised achievements including innovation in international policy development, a sustained commitment to building relationships between U21 members, exceptional research on global issues, and a continued contribution to international learning opportunities.
Nominations are now open and we would encourage you to take this opportunity to publically recognise individuals who are making a real difference to the landscape of international Higher Education.
Please download and complete the nomination forms below and return to U21@universitas21.com no later than Friday 8th September 2017.
