What are the U21 Awards?
The U21 Awards celebrate the achievements of individuals or teams showing great impact in internationalisation.
What are the themes of the U21 Awards 2024/25?
The 2024/25 U21 Awards will be awarded under the themes of Climate Action and Inclusive Global Engagement.
Who can be nominated for the U21 Awards?
Nominees for the U21 Climate Action Award should be:
- A person/team whose work shows an impactful, evidence-based contribution to climate action across borders in the world of higher education, exceeding the usual expectations of their role;
- A person/team whose work has furthered progress towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) in a U21 member university, or across several of them;
- A person/team at any level of seniority or expertise.
Nominees for the U21 Inclusive Global Engagement Award should be:
- A person/team whose work shows an impactful, evidence-based contribution to Inclusive Global Engagement across borders in the world of higher education, exceeding the usual expectations of their role;
- A person/team whose work has furthered progress towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and/or Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) within a U21 member university;
- A person/team at any level of seniority or expertise.
Please note that self-nominations are NOT permitted and the word limit must not be exceeded.
Nominees for the U21 Awards must be:
- A member of academic or professional services staff at a U21 member university;
- Not a current or former President or other Senior Leader of a U21 member university;
- A person/team whose work has had an international impact.
When will I be able to nominate for the U21 Awards for 2024-25?
Nominations for 2024-25 closed on Friday 17 January 2025.
