Disabilities Community of Practice

Led by Professor Paul Harpur OAM from the University of Queensland and the U21 Disability Community of Practice, U21 undertook a mapping exercise that obtained data from 21 member universities. It offers an unparalleled global perspective on disability inclusion in higher education and with a team of over 60 volunteers from across the network, the data will be used to develop a report on practical solutions to enhance disability inclusion across the U21 Network.
The report will cover five areas: university research in this area; HE governance structures and how they can promote inclusion; enhancing the experiences of students with disabilities; inclusion for staff with disabilities; a focus on the delivery of services, such as libraries, ITS, and property and facilities.
The final report will be presented to the Senior Leaders Group at the U21 AGM in May 2025.
