U21 Global Education & Senior Leaders’ Meeting 2026
10-13 November 2026
Critics, Customers, Co-creators - The evolving role of students in the university eco-system
The 2026 U21 Global Education and Senior Leaders’ Meeting will explore the changing relationship between universities and their students. Once seen primarily as recipients of knowledge, students are in many institutions increasingly positioned as active partners in shaping curricula, influencing institutional priorities, and demanding meaningful participation in governance and change. Across the U21 network, this theme invites reflection on how universities can balance accountability to their students as both consumers and collaborators, while preserving their academic mission and integrity. This gathering brings together members of the following U21 groups: Education Leaders, Senior Academic Developers, Global Learning and Mobility Group, Employability Group, U21 Officers and Senior Leaders. As expectations evolve around value, relevance, and student voice, we will explore how institutions are reimagining engagement, fostering co-creation, and ensuring that the student perspective remains central to shaping the future of higher education without derailing the operational realities of universities’ day-to-day activities. The programme will feature keynote addresses, interactive parallel sessions, and U21 collaborative group meetings designed to foster connectivity across the network while also offer peers dedicated time with their global colleagues. |
