Universitas 21 is a Presidents-led network of 27 worldwide, research-intensive universities who work together on shared issues of importance to their universities and to higher education more generally. The current Chair of Universitas 21 is Prof Sir David Eastwood, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham. The Chair is assisted by the U21 Executive Committee, a small group of Presidents from around the network, who have oversight of the work of the network, its activities and its interactions with members as well as with external bodies.
The 2019 U21 AGM and Annual Presidential Meetings took place at the University of Maryland, from 1 - 3 May 2019.

All Presidents and Vice Chancellors of U21 member universities, along with U21 Senior Leaders, are invited to attend the AGM and Presidential Symposium, which will be hosted by the University of Zurich in 2020. The 2020 theme will be around 'Sustainable Universities for Sustainable Societies' working toward our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.6th - 8th May 2020
