U21 Winter School 2019 at Korea University

U21 is delighted to be working with Korea University to offer the U21 Winter School as part of the KU International Winter Campus 2019. A unique package for U21 students is on offer, including a scholarship scheme and an additional collaborative project.

Student must be nominated by their university to receive this scholarship. Please contact your international office to find details of how you can apply.

The programme

The U21 Winter School will be part of the Korea University International Winter Campus Culture Track (Session 2). This two-week culture (not-for-credit) track offers exclusive one-day seminars about Korean politics, economy, and society, corporate visits such as Samsung or Hyundai Motor and cultural excursions. The programme is a unique insight into Korean life, whilst offering students an opportunity to make new friends, broaden their horizons and complete an international experience that will have a lasting impact on their future.

Along with the academic opportunities, there will be plenty of opportunities to attend fabulous events such as a fun ski trip, amusement park tour, and Nata performance. KU IWC will provide not only those one-day field trips but also general education classes such as Korean language classes in order to deepen your understanding of Korea.

Programme dates: January 21 - February 1 2019

Scholarship scheme

U21 is offering 10 scholarships of $600/680,000 KRW for undergraduate students nominated by their home university (max. 1 student per institution), meaning that students will benefit from a reduced fee of 420,000 KRW/$370 USD*. This cost may be covered by universities or by students.

As part of the scholarship package, these 10 students will be placed into an online working group in advance of the programme and will work together on a special challenge during their 2 weeks in Korea: to write a student framework for global citizenship using their own experience for inspiration.

To receive this scholarship, students must be nominated by their member institutions and write a statement of 300-500 words in English answering the question 'How will you challenge yourself on this programme to expand your global outlook?'
