Innovation Challenge FAQs

FAQs

1. Can students submit their video entries themselves? No, students cannot submit their own videos directly to U21 for round adjudication. All videos submitted to the round final should be sent by the named contact in each university.

2. Will there be three separate rounds of the competition as in 2018-2019? No, the 2019-2020 iteration comprises just the one round with all universities working towards one set of deadlines.

3. Who are the  judges for the U21 final? The judging panel will consist of PwC Partners, PwC client representatives and U21 representatives.

4. How have participating universities managed long-listing/internal competition rounds? Long-listing can happen in a number of ways. In previous rounds, universities have circulated the challenge question in a general call for interest to students. In this call, they set a short task, for example a written exercise or request for a short pre-recorded video presentation, in response to the challenge. The best responses were invited to take part in the internal heat.

5. Are students allowed to use props in their presentations? Unfortunately, the use of props is not accepted. However, students are allowed to use one slide to illustrate their ideas.

6. How and where can videos be uploaded? Shortly after registration you will be sent details for student registration and a link to upload the videos.

7. When will students find out if they've won? The judging process will take approximately 2 weeks. We aim to contact all entrants the week after the judging period has ended.

9. How will the winner and runners up be announced to the public? Both U21 and PwC will make public announcements via our websites and social media channels.

10. I have been given access to the U21 branding collateral and guidelines but how do I access PwC's logo etc.? Due to contractual arrangements, PwC's logo will not be available for distribution by U21 member institutions. We recommend that PwC is referred to in plain text format as 'PwC'.

11. I am one of the Overall Winners, when can I start my coaching? You will be contacted by PwC who will find a suitable time for you to undertake your one-to-one coaching. This is flexible, virtual and will be tailored to your career goals; PwC will be your point of contact.
