Université Paris-Saclay

Université Paris-Saclay is a research-intensive university with a vast European and international reach. It is ranked among the top world universities: 13th in 2025 ARWU – Shanghai Rankings, 70th in the QS rankings and 64th in THE 2025 global rankings.  

Covering the fields of science and engineering, life sciences and health, and humanities and social sciences, Université Paris-Saclay has placed innovation at the very heart of its strategy, in collaboration with its rich industrial R&D ecosystem, and in line with its core missions of research and education. It aims to educate the citizens of the future by tackling the major societal challenges of today and of tomorrow: Health and Well-being; Energy, Climate, Environment, and Sustainable Development; Biodiversity, Agriculture and Food; Sharing Knowledge; Digital Transformation and AI; Transport and Mobility; Aeronautics and Space; and Industrial Renewal.

Université Paris-Saclay brings together five faculties (Sciences; Medicine; Pharmacy; Law, Economics, Management; and Sports Sciences), four “Grandes écoles” (CentraleSupélec; AgroParisTech; ENS Paris-Saclay; and Institut d’Optique Graduate School), three university technology institutes, one university engineering school; and two associate member universities (Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and Université d’Evry). 

The university, along with its faculties and institutions, offers a comprehensive and varied range of Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD programmes, built firmly on cutting-edge research. It also offers 527 mutualised Master’s tracks (more than 70 fully in English) to over 9,000 students (37% international, from 127 countries), and over 100 undergraduate tracks; it hosts 4,500 PhD students in 21 doctoral schools, 40% of whom are international. 

With more than 220 laboratories, 500 experimental platforms, 8,100 researchers and teacher-researchers and partnerships with six national research organisations (CEA, CNRS, INRAE, INRIA, INSERM and ONERA), at the heart of a vibrant innovation ecosystem, Université Paris-Saclay represents 13% of French research.   

Université Paris-Saclay entertains a dense network of global partners, and is the coordinator of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH), building a transnational campus with 8 European partners (which includes Lund University). In 2025, Université Paris-Saclay was awarded three stars – the highest level of the “Bienvenue en France” label – by Campus France, in recognition of the quality of its welcome and support for international students.
