U21 Mental Health Symposium

U21 strives to support the delivery of good mental health provision that influences curriculum, teaching innovation and offers support for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and staff. This has never been more relevant than during the last year.

This symposium will bring together global perspectives via a panel discussion featuring Gareth Hughes, lead author on the UK University Mental Health Charter and Dr Andrew Hoang, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hong Kong whose research covers the intersections of education, social welfare and mental health systems. Dr Katherine Strasser Salinas, a researcher and psychologist from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, will also contribute findings from a recent faculty study focused on impacts of the pandemic on mental health as well as career, promotion and productivity. The panel will be chaired by Professor Barbara Dooley from University College Dublin.

This event is open to all staff within our members and aims to encourage our colleagues to consider how they might improve, or start a conversation around mental health practices in their specific work areas.
