Jim Lowe was appointed as Assistant Vice Provost, Executive Director for the Center for Career Development at the University of Connecticut in February of 2013. Prior to this appointment, he served as Assistant Dean, Executive Director, External Relations and Outreach, of UConn’s School of Business, overseeing the Undergraduate and MBA populations’ career development programs and initiatives, Veteran Affairs, Diversity Initiatives, Marketing/Communications, and External Relations Departments.

Jim is looking forward to working with the Employability Group in his new role; “Having been engaged with the Employability Group for the past year I have enjoyed the opportunity to partner with peers from across the entire U21 membership and learn from their successes. All too often, as career and employability professionals, we view the landscape from our own institutional lens and perhaps from the perspective of our home countries. The power of this cohort is our ability to share issues, practices and accomplishments that can influence our broader thinking and have a greater global impact on the programs and offerings that we provide to the students that we serve. I very much look forward to continuing my relationship with the Employability Group and welcome the opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity to further our impact.”

U21 would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing chair, Dr Dino Willox, University of Queensland, for their excellent leadership of the group over the past four years.
