Congratulations to President Professor Peter Høj, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Queensland who has been awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for eminent service to higher education and research, in the 2019 Australia Day Honours.
Professor Høj who has helped to grow industry funding for research by an estimated 45 per cent since joining UQ in 2012, and to improve the University’s standing in key global rankings, also earned a fellowship of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) in the United States in 2018.
He said, “I’m passionate about education, the commercialisation of research and the development of policies that will make a positive difference."
