U21 network solidarity in the face of COVID-19

The Chair of the U21 network, Professor Sir David Eastwood, has expressed the network’s solidarity with colleagues in its member universities in China and Asia, as they cope with the impact of COVID-19.

Sir David wrote ‘On behalf of all your U21 colleagues and friends from across the world, I want to pass on the network’s support to your staff, students and their families, as you continue to provide excellent education and to further your research at a very difficult time. We commend the work of your medical faculties in alleviating suffering and controlling the spread of COVID-19 and that of your researchers, who are seeking important answers to the diagnosis, treatment and cure of the disease.’

Sir David added  ‘As a global network committed to the internationalisation of higher education, U21 members will continue to work with you to share research solutions and to find innovative cross-university approaches (both actual and online) to the current restrictions in staff and student mobility’.
