On the 31st January 2021, Professor Bairbre Redmond will complete her tenure as U21 Provost and hand over to her successor, Professor Jenny Dixon from the University of Auckland. Bairbre was formally Professor of Higher Education, Dean of Undergraduate Students and Deputy Registrar at University College Dublin and joined U21 in October 2016 as its first Provost. During the last four years, Bairbre has been responsible for enhancing U21’s membership, rebranding the network and developing a cohesive and impactful strategy bringing together U21’s core focus areas of educational innovation, researcher engagement and student experience.

Chair of the Network, Professor Sir David Eastwood stated: ‘Bairbre’s term as Provost has been transformational. Her skill and sophistication in working across the network, and her passion for Higher Education has reshaped and facilitated much of what we do now. She leaves a rich legacy which will endure’.

Acknowledgements from across the network have been wide reaching and we hope that we will be able to thank Bairbre in person during our next face to face meeting.
