Organised by The PIE (Professionals in International Education), the awards recognise success, achievement and innovation across global education.

Amongst tough competition, Universitas 21 clinched the Sustainability International Impact award for their U21 Global Student pathway, a suite of sustainably themed, online initiatives, designed for students from its 27 member universities across the world. Developed to mitigate some of the challenges that the pandemic presented to international student mobility, these initiatives enabled almost 3,000 students to meet each other online, undertake cultural exchange, build their own international networks and develop responses to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Professor Tan, Chair of U21 and President of the National University of Singapore commented “We are delighted that our innovative U21 Global Student pathway has been recognised in this way. As a network we are focused on developing initiatives that are not only sustainable in themselves but also contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. U21, alongside our members, is committed to building a sustainable future for international higher education."
