Universitas 21 welcomes McMaster University, Ontario

Universitas 21 is delighted to welcome McMaster University to its leading global network of research-intensive universities.  The move was announced at the U21 AGM in Melbourne in May, making McMaster the second Canadian member and the 26th University in the Group.

“McMaster is focused on providing high-quality, innovative education, enabling cutting-edge research, and proactively engaging with the broader community,” says President Patrick Deane. “This membership will help us continue to strengthen partnerships and collaboration within a global network of institutions.”

McMaster’s Office of International Affairs fosters global citizenship among students, faculty, and staff through institutional participation in global initiatives, including international partnerships in support of research, scholarship and academic excellence, and strategic partnerships that advance the University’s civic mission. The University already has initiatives in place that support U21 commitments including effective and sustainable approaches to learning and teaching such as The Massive Online Open Course.

We look forward to working with colleagues at McMaster, involving staff and students in U21 initiatives going forward.
