Strategic Priorities

Projects

U21 runs a suite of member-led projects and programmes that aim to enrich education and research through internationalisation and open dialogue. We enable our members to collaborate, exchange knowledge and enhance their capacity to engage with their own wider communities and beyond.

Much of the network’s projects and initiatives are designed and delivered by three programmatic work areas, overseen by steering groups that comprise individual academic and professional staff from across the member universities, and are chaired by senior academics from within the network. Each work area is supported by a dedicated member of the U21 Management Team. These three clusters - Educational Innovation, Researcher Engagement and Student Experience - receive annual funding to work individually and collectively.

Educational Innovation

Work with colleagues across the network in collaborating and sharing best practice, expertise and resources that address key issues in university education; to realise the benefits of research-inspired teaching and facilitate the development of innovative approaches to teaching and learning, curriculum design and staff development.

Student Experience

Deliver internationally-focused innovations opportunities, both actual and virtual, which enhance student engagement, mobility and employability and help prepare students for life and work across international borders and cultural boundaries. Student-focused activities include a range of online student initiatives, subsidised short-term and other traditional and non-traditional student mobility initiatives.
