The Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies, along with the Research Leaders, oversee the strategic development of U21's Researcher Engagement activities. This group provides opportunities for the Deans and Directors to share ideas and experiences, enhance knowledge and develop contacts within the U21 network.
The group also aims to identify ways in which U21 members can support each other and, ideally, share resources in areas such as professional development materials or programmes, information systems, and core policies and procedures, associated with research practice.

The 2020 Early Career Researcher (ECR) Workshop will take place online on the theme of ‘Modern Slavery, Forced Labour and Human Trafficking’. This virtual workshop will be hosted by University of Nottingham. The workshop will mark the UN’s International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. The focus of this day each year, 2 December, is on eradicating contemporary forms of slavery. The workshop will also mark the moment when the global community enters the Decade of Delivery for the seventeen UN Sustainable Delivery Goals (SDGs), with only 10 years left to achieve the goals by the end of 2030.
The first DDoGS online session for 2021 will cover current issues regarding supervision, focusing on global trends and how they have evolved in the past 12 months. This session will feature a piece from Professor Bob Harris from the Karolinska Institute.
