Future Directions for Undergraduate Curriculum Design in Research-Intensive Universities: A U21 Position Paper
This Position Statement created from the Educational Innovation Symposium held in Hong Kong in 2018 has been developed from the three main Symposium questions that were themselves adapted through the process. The paper provides a summary of the challenges identified and discussed followed by proposed responses/actions that represent points of consensus:
1) What are the major challenges facing the traditional undergraduate curriculum?
2) How can we make our undergraduate programmes more open, accessible and relevant?
3) How can the U21 network add value to the development of the undergraduate curriculum of the future in research-intensive universities?
