U21’s Commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

U21 has Consultative Status with the Economic & Social Affairs Council (ECOSOC). We plan to use this position to engage more proactively with the UN, especially with regards to its work to achieve the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 - #Envision2030

The Executive Committee of U21 has given its support to the proposal that U21 focus on supporting SDG numbers four and seventeen in particular:

Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

In working towards delivering these goals, U21 has launched:

RISE (Real Impact on Society and Environment) an international showcase of student achievement in sustainability and social innovation designed to accelerate the scale and impact of student-led projects by connecting them with a network of experts in academia and industry.


Universitas 21 Global Citizenship a new online international opportunity for students across the network this October (2020).  Global Citizenship is an online leadership development course, delivered by Common Purpose, a global not-for-profit organisation that specializes in Cross-Boundary Leadership.
