The University of Birmingham and Waseda University have come together, with the actor Japanese Kyogen actor Mansai Nomura to explore how to bring Shakespeare to life for today’s theatre audiences.
U21 is delighted that two of its presitigious members have created a partnership which has delivered an international symposium delivering new insight on bringing together theatre practice and academic research to stage the Bard’s plays –focussing on how Japanese traditional theatre can help better understand Shakespeare.
